If you’re a GB Energy customer and interested in having a prepayment meter, you’ll find some information below that will tell you more about how it works and how to get a prepayment meter installed.
What is a Prepayment Meter?
A prepayment meter is a type of energy meter that can be installed in domestic properties. With a prepayment or ‘pay as you go’ tariff, customers pay for their energy before they use it – usually by adding money to a key or card and then adding this credit to the meter directly. You can top up your prepayment key or card when you want, at any PayPoint, Payzone or Post Office outlet, and you decide how much credit you want to add each time. Supplying your energy with a prepayment meter is also one way of affordably managing the repayment of debt and may be helpful if you are struggling to keep up with your energy bills.
